Shotblasting
Shotblasting
flat concete surfaces is, we believe, an unparalleled method
of surface preparation, in anticipation of the application
of a variety of coatings, sealers, membranes, and underlayments.
This method of blasting the floor surface with metal shot
is virtually dust free and can provide a range of surface
profiles to meet whatever the client's requirement may be.
SCR has been providing this service to its clients for the
past several years and we have both electric and gas equipment
in order to respond to a variety of environments and power
availabilities. Click

Underlayments
Floor
Underlayments & Toppings
Closely linked to our Blastrac/Shotblasting operation is
the placement of self-leveling cementitious underlayments
and toppings. SCR began putting down underlayments about
25 years ago and it has steadily become a larger part of
our rehab operation. We place more than a quarter of a million
square feet of self-leveling products annually, over wood,
concrete, cutback, precast and tile. Since these products
are not gypsum or latex based, they are impervious to water,
as strong as concrete and bond tenaciously to a variety
of substrates, which makes it imperitive that any contractor
involved in our restoration work must speak to a member
of our staff for information on these products and their
special uses. Call SCR for more information

Joint
& Spall Repair
SCR
personnel are experienced in filling sawcut joints with
a variety of materials, from urethane caulks to semi-ridgid
epoxies. In addition we are equipped to rout and fill leaking
slab cracks with these same materials, as an alternative
to the more costly epoxy injection method of dealing with
water intrusion into deck slabs. The purpose of joint filling
is to help maintain the integrity of joint nosings when
they are expected to endure regular auto and/or forklift
traffic.
Often times, however, we are called in after serious deterioration
has already taken place and then "minor surgery"
to the joints and spalls throughout the facility may be
in order. When this circumstance arises our staff can prescribe
typical repair procedures, suggest alternatives, recommend
repair materials. such as co-polymer mortars, and ready
mix latex modified concretes. SCR can and has affected these
sorts of repairs for a variety of clients, both public and
private.
